NJNMTP (formerly Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park, restructured and renamed 2018) is the home of BASF-YPC, the largest single foreign investment in Chinese petrochemicals at the time of announcement. The park's positioning shifted from commodity petchem to "new materials" and specialty chemicals over 2018-2024, prioritising electronic chemicals, biopharmaceutical intermediates, and engineering polymer specialties over commodity polyolefins. Yangtze inland-port access is the geographic advantage ; barge transport down the Yangtze to Shanghai / Yangshan for export, or upriver to Wuhan / Chongqing markets.
